And we're off!

Not a bad start to my time off work. Well, that's not strictly true. I was at the dentist, first thing, for a filling. But that involved a pleasant walk of around 2 miles, listening to some music, and indulging in my... passion? for women in scrubs.

But I've also managed to do some gardening, paint the fence and message several people, including USHW. KfW2 hasn't been in touch, though that's sadly expected, especially after her message from a few days ago. I will be seeing her tomorrow, though, albeit briefly. CC hasn't been in touch either, surprisingly. I was half-expecting her to be in contact, suggesting we go out for dinner.

There's plenty of time left in the day, though.

And Jessica Alba didn't show up, USHW.

Oh la la!

Despite not going to D's Superbowl party,  I did stay up to watch some of it. In fact, I watched all of the first half and the half time show with Bad Bunny.

I thought it was awful, from a musical standpoint, but was at least rewarded with the sight of Jessica Alba dancing.

Merry Xmas!

Happy Christmas all! I hope that Santa has been really good to you (or will be, depending on where you are in the world).

I'm going to have a long hot bath (a proper long, hot bath, USHW, not "our" kind), make some brekkie and this afternoon, I'll head to my sisters for Christmas lunch.

Santa, once again, completely ignored my wish for Jessica Alba.

So have some  attractive women in backless dresses.

Still tbc

It's 7:55 PM and I've not heard from S. So I am going to assume that he's not going top be in contact and even if he is, I am rapidly settling into "cocoon mode" which means only a guaranteed snog from Jessica Alba could persuade me to leave the house.

Mrs Ruuude

And seeing as I posted about Jessica Alba earlier, and it's been a while, here's a Jessica Alba appreciation post.

Oh la la la!

Inspiration struck! Regular readers will be unsurprised to hear that the actress mentioned in this post was, in fact, Jessica Alba. The film was Idle Hands.

Yup. No wonder I was instantly taken with this clothing combo.

Wait, what?

So, Facebook is telling me that there are rumours of a Jessica Alba divorce. Looks like I'm getting rid of this illness just in time to get onto my fitness journey. Now all I need to do is meet Jessica and woo her.

I don't particularly want to date single mothers, but there are exceptions.

Remember this?

For the first time in a long, long time, KfW2 has posted a memory of us on Facebook. I have to say that it's something that I'd noticed a while back - she would often post memories with other people, but not with the two of us. And I'd be disappointed. It was my assumption that she was concerned about people forming opinions off the back of us having fun in the pub without anyone else, and not sharing memories was a way of not drawing attention to that. I know she's voiced that kind of thing before when I've offered her my spare bed after a night out, for example.

But still, even though I understand where she's coming from, there have been times where I've been disappointed that she didn't share specific memories that I thought were important to her. And that's gotten more pronounced since lockdown and our friendship becoming more distant.

But the night in question was a great night, and seeing as KfW2 mentioned Jessica Alba, here's a picture.

Heart Eyes.

IMDB informs me that it's Jessica Alba's birthday today. So, have some pics.

Ew!

Over the past day or so, I've been trying to arrange a night out with FBS, D, Friction Guy etc. It's a little more difficult these days, what with FBS and D working jobs that have shift work rather than the typical 9-5 office jobs.

As part of the conversation, FBS let slip that she was potentially having surgery in March. However, that wasn't the bombshell. It was eye surgery.

I am extremely squeamish about eyes and even something as trivial as an eye test is a cause for major concern on my part.

So we spent the afternoon, in group chat, teasing each other. FBS, giving out details of her potential surgery and general eye stuff, and me linking to stupid things like this supposedly poor Jessica Alba film. I say "supposedly poor" because, despite my massive crush on Ms Alba, nothing on this earth (including a tryst with Ms Alba) would make me want to watch a film about eyes and eye transplants. A horror film at that. A big load of "nope" there.

We're still none the wiser about nailing down a date, but at least the eye chat has stopped. Phew.

Here's a photo of Jessica Alba just to make me feel better:

Fingers crossed.

I'm hoping that the stresses of the past five months are now over. The latest project has been delivered and while I expect flaws to be found, I can at least say that it's not because of a lack of effort or quality on my part.

I spoke to one of my local managers today about the situation with the remote guy and I believe I have a direction. I've sent an email that explains how stressed I am, why I believe I'm stressed, where I could have done better around this (communication, mainly) and yet state that despite all that, I've actually done well in difficult circumstances. There are undercurrents to it - my boss needs to be more aware of what's going on etc. but I'm hoping that it starts a conversation.

In other news, which may or many not be related to the work stuff, I've recently noticed a bit of hair loss. It seems to be quite obvious in some lighting conditions but not in others. Sadly, hair loss is not a trait that runs in either side of my family, so if it's genetic rather than stress related, then it's yet another physical condition that I seem to have picked up from nowhere that doesn't affect anyone else in the family.

Oh and I arrived home to a card from Royal Mail. Someone has tried to deliver something, but I wasn't in and it's too big for my letter box. Has my dream come true and Jessica Alba has mailed herself to me?

Close...

USHW and KfW2 both, seperately, keep asking me about DSC and whether or not I'm going to reply to her. I've no strong feelings either way and the reason I haven't done so already is simply because I have other things to worry about. Even if I do message her again, there's no real desire to actually meet up and socialise.

Last night, after watching Jessica Alba and getting a stirring in the loins, I actually pondered writing a message. I didn't know what to say and five minutes later, was side-tracked by something else.

Ho hum.

Maybe another time.

Keeping the cold at bay.

OK, so it might be a Wednesday night, but I'm sitting here with a beer and a blanket wrapped round me (I've got a different heating guy coming tomorrow for a second opinion) watching Mechanic: Resurrection. Jason Statham movies are always good fun and this one has the lovely Jessica Alba in it as well. In a bikini.

In. A. Bikini.

Saving the world in style.

Before my crush on Jessica Alba, my main celebrity crush was very much Uma Thurman. Much to FA2's chagrin, I would watch films that had Ms Thurman in them, even though they were, for the most part, awful.

When The Avengers opened in 1998, I told FA2 in no uncertain terms that we'd be attending. We'd only been officially dating a few months by that stage, so she wasn't really aware how much of a crush I had on Uma.

We came out of the cinema and headed for a drink. FA2 wasn't very complimentary about the film in general. She quite enjoyed taking the mickey out of me as it was my choice of the film until I opened my mouth...

FA2 thought I was going to protest, but what I actually did was agree with her.

FA2 was flabbergasted.

"But... but... but... you were really looking forward to the film! And it turned out to be appalling!"

I smiled.

"I was looking forward to seeing Uma Thurman in a tight, black leather catsuit. The rest of the film was immaterial."

She laughed and tried to retort that she had enjoyed Ralph Fiennes in a suit as well, but I was too busy reminiscing about the catsuit.

FA2 ended up getting a little drunker than she usually would (she was a stickler for maintaining control of herself and would be horrified if she got drunk and did something stupid or silly) and when she initiated sex later that evening, she was a little more aggressive than usual. I don't know if she was thinking about Ralph Fiennes, but I was certainly thinking about the catsuit.

Why the story now? Well, I've just found a copy of that awful movie... that's my Friday night sorted!

Reasons to be cheerful?

Earlier in the week I had asked S and GM if they fancied going to see Sin City 2 in the cinema last night with the lovely Jessica Alba. Then, as I was stressed and tired, I told GM that I wasn't going to bother. And then I changed my mind again at tea-time and called him and asked him if he'd mind.

He didn't, so we went. In the half hour we had before the movie started, we had a quick chat. I've mentioned before that it's easy to talk to GM, so a lot of the frustrations I'd had this year all came out - the general funk that's lasted eight months so far, online dating and it's complete lack of success, the CB on Match.com frustration and my gradual disappointment in GB  over the past 18 months.

It was surprising how much he agreed with me. He's seen much more in the way of results from online dating, but still admitted that he'd had his own frustrating spells. His feelings about GB was something that mirrored my own, though to a lesser extent. I raised the subject of speed dating from S's reaction in this post and he was definitely up for it. I just have to find a singles night or a speed dating night that looks fun and caters for our age ranges (I'm approximately ten years older than GM).

The flatmate thing has been resolved as well. MfW has gotten his way and the last of our potentials has taken the room. I'm glad he's gone/going. He's not a particularly good flatmate - not doing any cleaning beyond his own room, not taking responsibility, taking food and drink that doesn't belong to him and taking forever to "replace" it with cheaper alternatives. He's also a massive hypocrite - complaining about FNG's notice then taking the piss himself or laughing at UF's tightness with money when he's extremely similar himself.

So I'm looking forward to moving into a new room (with ensuite, woohoo!), getting my shit in order and starting to gather information for my 2015 goal that I've decided that I'm kicking off now. I have a night out with CH and booze hopefully this weekend and am hoping that the new guys coming in are more sociable and cleaner than the two that are leaving.

Gratuitous Jessica Alba post.

According to IMDB.com, it's Jessica Alba's birthday today. Happy Birthday!

No title at this time

I used to really, really fancy QC2. She was an ex co-worker of mine from a job I had probably about 13 years ago. QC2 was Jessica Alba before Jessica Alba was old enough to be attractive to men. QC2 was brunette, an almost perfect size 10, fantastic arse in a pair of Levis (blue or black), a sarcastic sense of humour with an edge to it and she was gorgeous. There are many, many similarities between QC2 and Jessica Alba, physically speaking. Jessica's better looking with a body only too much time at the gym can provide, but if there ever was a real world copy, then QC2 is it.

I think she knew that I really liked her, but there was never anything in it from her perspective. As these things tend to go with me, the non-platonic feeling soon gave way to platonic feeling and QC2 is a girl I'm quite fond of. I'm sure an element of the non-platonic stuff still exists in some minute fragment but ignoring that, she's someone I feel extremely comfortable with. I would have no hesitation in talking to her about my ambiguous feelings regarding E, for example. Or my frustration at the recent Kiwi Girl events. However, for some reason, I'm not entirely comfortable just saying it out loud. It kinda sounds like bragging and I don't have the skills to bring it up in conversation without it sounding like a boast ("See me, I pulled a stunning blonde Kiwi Girl last week!"). If someone raises a subject, I'll talk about it. If not, I talk around subjects. That's why I prefer people to ask me direct questions, I think. It certainly gave rise to USHW's list of Qs that she asks sometimes.

I was out with QC2 tonight and rather than just voice the remaining frustrations I have regarding the Kiwi Girl situation, all I could do was hint at it and hope she asked the questions. So, rather predictably, I skirted around the issue. QC2's usually quite intuitive and picks up on these weird foibles of mine, but tonight she was a little off (for no reason that I could ascertain). Maybe it's because we've not seen each other in well over a year. That'd be my guess.

Irrespective of my own weirdness, I had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours in QC2's company. Part of it is probably sue to that remaining non-platonic core that I have, but QC2 is simply good company. We've agreed that it's something we should do far more of and have tentative plans to arrange a night out some time and a different night out to visit a mutual friend of ours (AM) that we've both neglected far too much recently. This probably won't be until after the holiday season, but I'm looking forward to these nights already.

Yummy.

Ah, the beautiful Jessica Alba aka the future Mrs. Ruuude. There's no reason for posting it other than it's a fabulous picture of a woman I've admired* for years.

The Xmas Haul.

Ah... weeks of planning and frustration and worry* and it's all over. Not a bad haul for me this year - most of the stuff I like such as booze, money and tokens. I'm actually looking forward to getting out and spending the dosh and token this year. I could do with a new pair of jeans and a couple of new t-shirts and perhaps a shirt or two. No Jessica Alba in my stocking though... damn you Santa! *shakes fist*

*There wasn't really any worry or frustration. I don't think enough of Xmas to let it get to me.

A craving.

You know how you can sometimes get a craving for chocolate or a really cold beer? This week, I've been craving a back massage. It's been ages since I last had one.

I've been feeling tense up the spine recently, especially between the shoulder blades and I'd really love a back massage followed by a long hot soak in a bath (we don't have a bath at home). That would be bliss! Jessica Alba's company would be an added bonus, but is not necessary.

What?

A bit of a weird dream last night. It featured KfW2 quite significantly. In the dream, she kept inviting me to social and work events but wo...
